Buenos Aires, Feb 12 (NA) – The Association of Employees and Officials of the National Judicial Power has requested the Commission for Accusations of the Council of the Magistrature to urgently set the testimonial hearings in the case investigating federal judge Patricio Maraniello.
The request refers to the case in which facts of institutional gravity denounced by workers who served under the magistrate's orbit are being analyzed. The Commission unanimously resolved in December 2025 to summon fourteen witnesses, considering their statements to be fundamental to clarifying the facts, as learned by the Argentine News Agency.
However, the motion warns that, despite the authorization for the judicial recess and the relevance of the case, dates for receiving testimonies have still not been set, causing a delay in a central evidentiary measure for the investigation.
From the entity, they pointed out that the delay could affect the normal progress of the process and compromise the effectiveness in reconstructing the facts, as the passage of time may affect the availability and accuracy of the statements. Likewise, they maintained that the prompt holding of the hearings is necessary to guarantee an agile and effective investigation and to safeguard the right to defense of the involved magistrate, avoiding prolonging the uncertainty about his situation.
In this context, they requested the Council of the Magistrature to take the necessary measures to set the testimonial hearings during the current month, due to the gravity of the facts and the public interest involved.
